At HFCF you will discover the answer to that age old question that plagues Hollywood insiders:

"Yes, but will it play in....Iowa?"
_________________________________________

"I'm thrilled that your festival has returned! The Hardacre Film Festival was the very first festival to ever show any of my work. Since that time, my documentaries have played numerous film festivals and have had many screenings at theatres across the US and Europe. However, none have had the hospitality and the excitement of Hardacre; to this day, both my crew and I agree that it is our favorite film festival."

- Jim Fields, Writer/Director, Apartment 101 Films _________________________________________

It'll be one helluva fest - one inspiring, enthralling, heart-pounding, tear-inducing, side-splitting, thought-provoking, knee-slapping helluva fest.

Whether you submit a film, come to a screening, or just support what we're doing, we applaud you. There's just nothing like creating and sharing visual motion art with other filmmakers and the viewing public in a quaint small-town nestled in America's heartland.

2008 SUBMMISSION DEADLINE: To Be Announced

Why submit?

  • HFCF is a festival for the rest of us. Although in the past we sometimes screen films that also appear at the likes of Sundance, we provide a public forum for filmmakers to get their work seen.

  • The historical Hardacre Theater in downtown Tipton is an art-deco masterpiece that has been in constant use as a theater since 1917. It provides an intimate setting for 300 cinephiles, casual fans and those who simply stumble in to enjoy your film.

  • We'll make sure that you and your film are positioned to make the best possible impact on the audience, the media and the community at large.

Why attend?

  • The HFCF is one of the few precious opportunities those of us in this part of the country have to screen independent and underground cinema. The folks out on the coasts don't know how lucky they are!

  • HFCF calls the historic town of Tipton its home. With hospitality like no other and a plethora of other activities in the area, you can make a whole weekend of it!

  • If you want to come to a festival free of the typical indie film politicking, blatant schmoozing and commercialism, HFCF is for you. The focus is cinema as art, and the filmmakers as artists.
