Getting the Job I Want

When I told my parents I was looking for a new job, my father asked me when I was going to pound the pavement. I had no idea what he meant until he explained to me how he would go out and look for a job in the past, when he was much younger. They did not have the internet back then like they have for my entire life, so they are not familiar with how easy it is to look for a job without going outside. I told him about the financial services recruitment agency that I was registered with, and how I could look for a great job while sitting home in my pajamas!

I actually am not that bad, but I like that I have that option. I cannot imagine going out to actual companies and filling out an application right there on the spot. It is just so much easier to log into the website of the recruitment agency and see what kinds of jobs are available. What might take half a day for my father in the past takes mere minutes with the way that I do it today.

I logged on the first time, and it took me just a minute to get fully registered on the site. That gave me access to different jobs. I was able to filter out the jobs I am not interested in, and then I was able to see the different jobs that I could potentially get. The nice part about this is that it gives a wealth of information. I find out exactly what the job entails, what kind of experience is needed, the compensation package, and much more. I am able to apply right there online too, which makes it much easier for my generation. I am hopeful that I am going to get the job I want this way!
