Tipton has the resources to address all of your potential healthcare needs. Two well-staffed medical clinics are located in town, providing first line care. Tipton is also centrally located near a number of nationally-recognized hospitals, including the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and Mercy Hospital in Iowa City and Trinity Regional Health System in the Quad Cities.
The Tipton Area Life Support (ambulance) System provides emergency transportation. Jet helicopter air ambulance service provides swift transport to any of six quality hospitals in the area.
Our town is also home to dental offices, chiropractors, an optometrist, massage therapists, and a physical/occupational therapy clinic.
Cedar County Public Health, located in the County Courthouse, is a multifaceted agency that provides intermittent skilled nursing care, home care aide/homemaking services and public health services such as immunizations, disease surveillance, health education, rehabilitation, health promotion, and public health education. The Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Cedar County Care Facility, and Prairie Hills assisted living facility afford excellent elder care. Local citizens have also built and manage a 44-unit non-profit Senior Citizen Park as a convenient housing option.
