Community Celebrations
The Tipton area is home to a number of community events and celebrations throughout the year. Independence Day means a parade through downtown Tipton, a carnival, great food, and community softball games. The historic 1800's "Old Jail" (pictured on the Historical Places page) plays host to the annual 'Festival of Trees' each Thanksgiving. The first weekend in August means that downtown businesses go crazy with their prices and take to the sidewalks during 'Ridiculous Days'. An 'Old Fashioned Christmas' celebration featuring a horse-drawn tour of lights highlights the holiday season. Other events include the Cedarland Fall Festival, Memorial Day Service, Bluegrass Days, Labor Day 5K Run, and of course, the Cedar County Fair.
